Ronda grew up in Philippines and came to Canada in September 2009 to experience a different working environment. She works as a live-in caregiver.

One of her favourite pieces of “art” at home is a collage made by her brother. It was a collection of pictures (faces) of family and friends, taken from different years, cut from various prints then pasted into one larger cardboard. She enjoys looking at it, finding tiny faces, and walking down memory lane. It’s like a guessing game, too, for friends and relatives when they visit.

Just a few years back, a couple of friends introduced her to bird watching and she later got interested in taking bird pictures. She loves watching birds not just because of their beauty and grace as they fly and do what they do, but it always reminds her of Jesus’s reference of birds in Matthew 6:26, about how God cares for them. Are we not of more value? She likes gardening too.

Inexperience and lack of exposure to the arts made her hesitant about her engagnement with POIEO but after some prayers and encouragement from other faithful friends, she decided to join as a member of the board in support of POIEO’s mission but also as a way to learn and grow. 

​

Ronda serves as the secretary of the Board.
